Pioneer Pet Sticky Furniture Deterrent

Pioneer Pet Sticky Furniture Deterrent

I got all 3 kinds of sticky paws, the big sheets, the regular strips and the roll. The roll form is handy for more targeted areas. The cats (4) don't like the sticky paws. But they do move to other areas that aren't covered. So it's necessary to have something for them to scratch. I got a very tall sisal covered post. But they don't like sisal, so I wrapped it with a small rug and they all like it now. The sticky paws covered furniture is not getting scratched now. The regular strips work well on the vertical arms of a couch. It's a little tricky getting the sticky part off the backing and onto the furniture, but it sticks and protects the couch. I would love to see them when they try to scratch. I put it on stairs also - the vertical riser part. But you need to cover all of them, because they'll just move to another step to scratch.

  1. You can't see them on your furniture unless you really look, which makes them a good purchase for those concerned about how they will look. I have not seen our cat scratch anywhere they are place.

  2. I used this product in combination with a pheromone spray and both vertical AND horizontal scratching posts. We got new upholstered chairs and my three boys haven't touched them after 3 weeks!!--I love it and will order more--two paws up!!

  3. My kitten loves to walk on my kitchen countertops and actually tries to drink from the faucet. Ewww! My vet said to try aluminum foil, double-sided tape and contact paper upside down. None of those things worked. She walked all over them and even laid down on the foil! Found this and tried it and she doesn't go near the sink any longer. Now I have to cover my whole kitchen cabinet countertop, but will live with it for however long it takes her to get the message. She is pretty hard-headed, though. Don't know who will will this battle!

  4. This item really comes in handy if you need a break from having to replace sofa covers often. Easy to use too.

  5. great idea. works well. Wish I had thought of this idea. I find that areas my cat was used to scratching, she now avoids.

  6. These worked like a charm. I was so worried when we invested in a new sofa that it would end up all scratched up like the old one. I put sticky paws in the places where the cats seemed inclined to scratch the most. As a result, they haven't scratch it at all. Now I just wish I hadn't also invested in an expensive scratching post which the cats totally ignore.

  7. Sticky paws works great for stopping cats from scratching wood such as all the wood trim around doors that they stretch out on and scratch. I bought the sticky paws in the hopes of using the sticky strips on my new leather couch and loveseat but the reality is that I think the sticky paws might damage the leather so instead I just keep the cats out of the living room when no adult is there to supervise them - kind of like having little kids again!

  8. Solved my problem. I have one cat that will not use the scratching post. He would use the door jamb. This solved the problem.
