After reading the online reviews I ordered this sofa with some trepidation - there were some terrible reviews of the condition that it came in! I am happy to say that the sofa arrived without mishap, and it is everything I hoped it would be. It looks high-end, even though the cushions could be cushier, and was in perfect condition. I immediately ordered the matching chair and table, to complete the look. This was the cheapest set I found anywhere, including delivery. The fact that there was absolutely zero assembly required was a big plus.

I was surprised, however, to learn upon delivery that they did not unpack the sofa for me. In fact, it was just out of the kindness of their hearts (and seeing I couldn't possibly move the sofa package myself!) that the delivery people brought it around to the back yard. They told me I needed to have ordered "white glove delivery" in order for it to be delivered wherever I needed it placed, and that would have included taking it out of the box and disposing of the box. I didn't know of this option, but I would definitely do that on any large piece of furniture at this point.

My only other comment is about the coffee table, which looks fine and matches the set, but which is practically useless as a flat surface, since there is nothing under the wicker. Anything you put on the table is going to wobble. Would not recommend the table. Sofa and chair - awesome!

The chair is even better than expected. In fact, we liked it so much that we immediately ordered another one! The chair comes completely assembled and is very comfortable. We have the matching couch on order and it should arrive mid-week; I'll try to write a quick review when it comes in if I remember.

Before we bought this chair, we shopped around town and sat in a number of similar resin-wicker chairs and sectionals. But they were generally much more expensive than this one, and that's before delivery and set-up charges. While some were very plush and comfortable, others almost pushed you forward out of the chair or weren't deep enough. So we were a little nervous about buying this chair without being able to test it out first.

This chair is a good balance between sitting back and sitting up, plus it's deep enough you can sit back with a child on your lap and still be comfortable. What we especially like about this one is that the top of the arms are flat, meaning that you can set a drink, a book, or an iPhone on the arm. It's like having a built-in side table. You can't beat it for the price it looks good too.

Hoover Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner

We purchased this vacuum through Amazon three weeks ago. The vacuum is used for our large kitchen (laminate floor), laundry and entry way from our garage (laminate floor), front entry way and three bathrooms all with ceramic tile floors. Based on one of the customer reviews we'd read, we were concerned with the battery life. This has not proven to be a problem at all with us. First, the battery charges to full capacity in just about two hours and not the three we expected. We use the vacuum almost every day and the first charge lasted for a good two weeks. We are now on the second charge. The brush option is seldom used as the vast majority of the vacuuming is on hardwood floors and not rugs. It is our belief that limited brush use has allowed the battery to last longer. We've emptied the cup twice and did not have a problem with getting dirty. If your cleaning needs are similar to what I've explained, I would highly recommend you buy this vacuum. We also like the convenience of being able to charge the battery away from the vacuum and not be limited to where the charging can occur. So, we prefer to place the charging unit on a counter top.
I do agree with others who expressed concern with the price ($180) for this vacuum. However, I'll bet that the battery is the single most expensive part and this alone probably pushes the cost to this level.

I purchased the Bissell Spot Clean Pro to clean my microfiber upholstery, and also to clean small spots on the carpet. I have two cats, so I need something to clean up their occasional messes. I found the unit easy to use, and easy to clean after use. It took me a little time to figure out the best way to clean without drenching the area, but once I did I found it did the job well. I have cleaned the upholstery before with a spray bottle and Shop-Vac, but the Spot Clean Pro is much easier to use, and it removed the moisture almost as well as the Shop-Vac.

I read some reviews that said the Spot Clean Pro was noisy. I didn't think it was any louder than my vacuum cleaner so I decided to test it. I have a Radio Shack sound lever meter so I did an unscientific measurement of the decibel levels. All measurements were done at 3' from each machine, one reading taken with the machine sitting on carpet, and the other reading on tile flooring. The Spot Clean Pro measured 82 db on carpet and 95 db on tile. My Eureka MightyMite canister vacuum was 81 on carpet and 90 on tile. My 8-gallon wet/dry Shop-Vac was 90 on carpet and 93 on tile. The Spot Clean Pro is a little louder that my vacuum cleaner, but way more convenient than the noisy, bulky Shop-Vac.

Overall I am very pleased with this machine. I found the 22' power cord and 5' flex hose long enough for me to reach everything easily. The only issue I had was that there is only one fill line marked on the clean water tank, and since I only used half the cleaning solution I had to find a place to store the leftover fluid, or throw it away. It would be nice if Bissell had a half-full mark on the clean water tank so you could mix enough solution for small jobs. Since the clean water tank holds 96 ounces, I measured 48 ounces of water and marked a line on my tank to make it easier next time. Other than this one small issue, I like the machine a lot and would highly recommend it to others.

Howard Feed-N-Wax does the job

As someone who has been around an extensive amount of furniture his whole life, I try to make sure that I am able to take care of it properly.

There are an extensive number of of waxes/polishes, etc. out there. Most of the popular ones in the media out there feature silicone (cough, Pledge, cough). Also, just as bad, are the "cleaners" out there such as "Murphy's Oil Soap" -- a truly bad idea for a nice finish on furniture.

There are a number of finishes out there -- modern day finishes (ie: polyurethanes) as well as shellacs, etc.

If you want a polish/wax/cleaner that can handle modern-day finishes and just about any antique finish, then Howard's is definitely the way to go! For the record, I'm not a huge fan of the micro-crystalline polishes out there as I think they are too abrasive for some older more fragile finishes.

It features a combination of: carnauba wax (often found in quality waxes, especially in car waxes), beeswax, orange oil, and petroleum distilates (an unfortunately but necessary evil).

It is a thick liquid (like cake batter) that is easily spread/applied across large flat surfaces as well as worked into nooks and crannies.

You apply it....and let it dry (anywhere from 20 mins to hours or even a day) then lightly buff it (this is where the carnauba wax is important!) to a respectable sheen (think somewhere around a satin scene in terms of paint definitions).

It does a good job of hiding minor surface blemishes/scratches, evening out tones/colors, and enhancing the natural wood grain. The talk about it "revitalizing thirsty wood" is mostly bunk, though -- if a finish is mostly intact (polyurethane, shellac, and even milk paint to a degree), it will be fairly protected from moisture getting in/out as well as any "penetrating" substances.

One of the other truly cool things about this polish is that you can revitalize a worn out finish by mixing it with stain (like Minwax) and apply it to a well-loved (or beaten up!) piece.

In short, an excellent product that can revitalize a tired, old finish in a limited manner and provides a long term protective coating to just about any piece of furniture.

We own a beach house that we rent during the summer. The rental agent advised us to get bed bug proof mattress encasements to protect against bed bugs brought in by renters that had stayed in a motel on the way to their vacation and picked up bed bugs in their luggage. Was looking to replace an inexpensive fan that simply was too loud on high speed to let us sleep. Once the sun goes down it cools outside but not in the house and we are used to it cooler in order to sleep well. The Vornado can be run on high which really moves the air but does so fairly quietly (you could say very quiet in the city and in the next room quiet in a rural setting).

Owning a Vornado heater I already knew to expect quality construction and wasn't disappointed. A nice feature built into the design is the ability to point the fan level, at an angle, or straight up without any moving parts to shake loose---it is all in the design of the base.

Bottom line; three speeds, really moves the air on high, is quieter at all speeds than any other fan I've seen, and is well designed.

Uber Steam Cleaner

McCulloch MC 1275 Heavy Duty Steam Cleaner

I love this thing! The day it arrived, I assembled it (the user manual is very clear) and immediately put it to work steam mopping the kitchen floor. It worked extremely well, much better than a sponge mop or one of those Swiffer or Grab-it type things, which I have tried in the past. And no chemicals are needed.

The next day I used it in my kids' bathroom, and mine, too. I'm a single dad, and don't get around to these areas very often. The squeegee attachment allowed me to just wipe down the shower walls to a sparkling shine. The smaller brush was handy for getting the buildup off the folds in the shower curtain. It also worked great on the toilet and sinks. It even cleaned up some old dried latex paint spills on the floor.

The MC-1275 puts out lots of steam for a long time. I give it 5 stars for usefulness and quality of construction.

I have found yet another use for this device: it blasts that window tinting right off of car glass--especially useful in the back glass when you don't want to damage the defroster wires.

Our puppy has demodectic mange. Goodwinol slowed the hair loss, but new spots kept forming. Ivermectin given orally stopped all hair loss, but after two weeks on the regimen we still had yet to see much in the way of hair regrowth and ordered Nu-Stock.

As far as the smell goes... Honestly, some people are just.so.whiny. It smells very strongly of pine oil on the first application, which I think smells nice and crisp and clean. It's a little over-strong, but not unpleasant. When it dries there is definitely a noticeable sulfur odor, but it's nothing too bad. We put it on her about an hour before bed and by the evening of the next day, I can't really smell it anymore. The first night we applied it it felt like the whole house smelled. Then we took the dogs on a walk and came back and I couldn't smell it at all. I think it just gets in your nose and stays there and people have overreacted. It smells a little through the bottle, but not too bad - we keep it in the cabinet with all the other dog stuff, and it hasn't stunk it up. Seriously, unless you are incredibly sensitive or overdramatic, don't let the smell turn you off.

I won't both being repetitive as I second all the positive reviews here already. A few nights ago we did our third application, and little stubbily hairs are sprouting on her bald spots. Our pup doesn't seem to mind the Nu-Stock at all and leaves the spots alone. The skin is looking healthier as well. We couldn't be more pleased, and I HIGHLY recommend this product.
