Our puppy has demodectic mange. Goodwinol slowed the hair loss, but new spots kept forming. Ivermectin given orally stopped all hair loss, but after two weeks on the regimen we still had yet to see much in the way of hair regrowth and ordered Nu-Stock.

As far as the smell goes... Honestly, some people are just.so.whiny. It smells very strongly of pine oil on the first application, which I think smells nice and crisp and clean. It's a little over-strong, but not unpleasant. When it dries there is definitely a noticeable sulfur odor, but it's nothing too bad. We put it on her about an hour before bed and by the evening of the next day, I can't really smell it anymore. The first night we applied it it felt like the whole house smelled. Then we took the dogs on a walk and came back and I couldn't smell it at all. I think it just gets in your nose and stays there and people have overreacted. It smells a little through the bottle, but not too bad - we keep it in the cabinet with all the other dog stuff, and it hasn't stunk it up. Seriously, unless you are incredibly sensitive or overdramatic, don't let the smell turn you off.

I won't both being repetitive as I second all the positive reviews here already. A few nights ago we did our third application, and little stubbily hairs are sprouting on her bald spots. Our pup doesn't seem to mind the Nu-Stock at all and leaves the spots alone. The skin is looking healthier as well. We couldn't be more pleased, and I HIGHLY recommend this product.

  1. Koda, my female Pit Bull developed red mange. Took her to my vet. All he wanted to do was give her mange dips once a week. All these dips did was make her more miserable. I was at my local feed store and started talking to an old timer about her mange issue. He started singing praises about Nu Stock! He convinced me to try it. I bought a tube and brought it home. I bathed her in a mild soothing aloe shampoo, let her air dry and applied the Nu Stock. I repeated this process every two days. I won't say anything bad about the smell. I kind of like it. I didn't like the fact that she left a "Yellow Residue" wherever she laid down. To fix this tiny problem, she wore a T-shirt. Within a week, her mange was disappearing! By the end of the second week, she had hair growing back!! I will never be without my Nu Stock!

Since then, I have used it to treat hot spots on my dogs, minor scrapes and wounds. I have also used it on my horses for Rain Rot and Proud Flesh, all with amazing results!

Before you spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars for your pets skin issues, please give Nu Stock a try... You might just be as amazed as I was and become a true believer!

This is not your typical "Snake Oil" remedy for your pet.... This is the REAL DEAL!

    Thank you Nu Stock!

  3. I've been using this product for nearly 20 years, and swear it could grow hair on a golf ball! I show horses and dogs, and rely on this ointment to keep the critters' coats uniform. Great for the everyday cuts and scrapes horses and dogs receive, and will even regrow hair on old scars and bald spots. Don't know how only three simple ingredients could be so effective, but it works!

  4. This item is very good to use. I had 2 dogs that I rescued that had hair loss one more than the other. We were not Quite sure on the condition but I bought Nu-Stock and after 15 days the vet has saw improvement in them. The one that had far more loss is Getting her hair Back. This item recomends to thin it out with Baby oil it is too thick so do it and it will be alot easier to put on. I works on wounds too.

  5. I know that's a disgusting thing to say but after spending hundreds and hundreds at the doctors and suffering for months, this was the ONLY thing that killed all the bugs and got everyone in our family bug free. We mixed it with Jergens Lotion and applied it daily. Strong smelling, but it worked like a charm.

We had tried premethrin from the doctors, Neem oil (which helped but was never enough), tea tree oil (didn't help at all)Count less sprays, lotions ect. And while this is embarrassing to say, I'm posting this because Scabies is called the Seven year itch for a reason!! it's Extremely hard to get rid of and Im so glad I got this product. It cured our scabies for 12 dollars. It is truly a blessing. I hope that someone else who is searching for a cure, not a temporary fix will see this and try it out. (its also important to clean clean clean!!! plastic bed covers are essential, Washing of clothes daily! its a LOT of hell but once you get rid of it, you will be so happy, I know we are.

  6. I found this item about 2/3 less than 12.69 at a veterinary site after purchasing it here unfortunately. The ingredients listed are only sulfur, pine oil and mineral oil, and I think it is the pine oil that actually has the most effect on the demodex type of mites. There is a bit of an odor, but it is similar to the smell of regular PineSol that also has a bit of pine oil, so it isn't too bad at least for me. If you try this, you might try just a test spot before going all out with it, because it may cause an allergic reaction. Also, you do have to stir it up well before using it, because the oil and sulfur will separate. I have been trying this for my own demodex mite issue, since the healthcare providers I've been to have been less than helpful with it. I have been blending it with a bit of regular lotion, and a just touch of wetted mustard powder because that will kill mites instantly, but it has to be wet, so it's good for the the areas on your body where there are skin folds.

Addition - if you are using this to treat demodex mange, you might try to add in some anti-fungal miconazole nitrate (common in foot powders and vaginal yeast creams). It may kill the gut fungus in the mites, and make them starve and die. (I used MN on me, and it really helped me.)

  7. Nu-Stock is great for treating most any kind of wound on livestock and dogs. I used this product everyday for well over a month, on a dog that was bitten by a venomous snake.

Even with vet care, our vet said a baseball-sized area would rot away, due to tissue damage. The vet said nothing could be done to prevent it. After cleansing the wound daily, we would apply the Nu-Stock paste and go on our merry way.

The wound healed much faster than the vet anticipated and my dog suffered only minor skin/tissue loss, the size of a quarter! It could have been much worse, but luckily the Nu-Stock, not only saved my dog from severe tissue damage, but it also promoted hair re-growth as well.

I like the fact that it is in a paste form, as it is much more convenient than just a liquid spray. Nu-Stock stays on better and longer. Also, my dogs do not seem to like the taste, thus they do not try and lick it off, like they do other products. Even the flies tend to stay away!

Yes, it does have a strong pine, sulphur smell, so caution should be used when applying this product on any inside pet. Be sure to apply with a clean cotton rag or paper towel to avoid getting on your fingers. The smell most certainly does stick around for a while.

Regardless of the smell, I highly recommend this product simply because it works so well! In fact, I would say it works wonders!
