We just had our hardwood floors refinished. The floor guy said to use felt and not the Teflon bottoms we used to use. I ordered these based on what I read on Amazon.com.
These pads are much better quality than what you can buy at Home Depot -- they are very thick and very dense, and the glue is very sticky.
Make sure to let the glue set for at least a few hours before you start pushing your furniture around.
Also, it's best to cut them with an Exacto knife, not a utility knife, especially when cutting circles or odd shapes. You can pick up an Exacto knife and blades at an art supply store (Home Depot doesn't carry true Exacto knives).
We've used these on our wrought iron island stools which are extremely heavy. They now glide along the floor so easily.

BalasHapusThese pads are great! I bought some bar stools to go in my kitchen on the hardwood floor. I initially purchased some pads at Lowes--not sure of the brand, but they were tan and looked very similar to these. HUGE MISTAKE. Every time someone pushed back their chair from the island to stand up those pads slipped, leaving a sticky residue on the floor, exposing the hard feet that could scratch the floor, and putting me in a situation where I constantly had to keep an eye on the silly things! These pads are perfection. The adhesive is strong--they will not budge! Be sure you get them on right the first time, because I'm not sure that it's possible to get them off! I've had them on for 2 weeks now with not a single problem, couldn't be happier!

BalasHapusIf you are looking something to avoid scratching your wood floors without putting an ugly looking sock on your furniture or buying a carpet for underneath this is the product for you. Cut to size stick on the bottom side of the furniture leg and scratch free floors. Only draw back is I wish I knew of this product prior to putting some scratches in the floor.
BalasHapusMy dining room is tile. I love it. My dining room chairs have metal legs. Every time I pulled out a chair, it sounded like fingernails on a chalk board..yikes! I bought the proper size and color protectors, put them on (couldn't be easier) and now it's a silent experience when preparing to sit at the table. No more worries about scratching the floor and no more cringing at the sound. It's now a silent delight! They look very nice if you want to point them out to people, but, otherwise, no one has noticed them until they hear how quiet it is to sit down now!
BalasHapusFelt floor protectors are just the kind of pad I needed. Our new hardwood floors require everything that touches them to be properly protected. These pads were useful for non conventional items without legs, ie garbage can, recycle bin. This is just what I needed and they are high quality.
