Best "little" clothesline ever!!

Honey Can Do DRY 01113 40 Foot Retractable Clothesline

Honey Can Do DRY 01113 40 Foot Retractable Clothesline

I have had this outdoor retractable clothesline for over 20 years hanging on my patio - I might also add, I live in Arizona and it has survived our very hot sunny weather. The casing was looking a little weathered after so may years, even though the retractable device was still working just fine. I decided to see if it was still available, needless to say, it was. I use it to hang rugs after washing, lawn furniture cushions, etc., and of course to hang towels after swimming. I put up 2 hook-ups, one about 7 foot between the pilars on the patio and one across the yard when I needed more space for hanging. This is a great gadget to have. If you don't want it out when your not using it, it slides off the screws as easy as can be and you can put it out of sight if you don't want it hanging up all the time, but like I said, I left it up all year long and for 20 plus years.

  1. Inatallation and use are both very easy. The line remains reasonably taut even when fully extended and loaded from one end to the other.

  2. Not running the dryer so much saves energy and money. Installed this over a year ago and have hung clothes out to dry from June - September here in sunny GA. Mine is stretched about 30 feet and there is a lot of sag. I had to make a stick brace with a notch in the top to hold up the center. The only gripe I have is after pulling it out and attaching to the hook end you have to go back to the unit and wrap the line around the little plastic bar on the bottom of the unit. One wrap is easy, but won't tighten the line enough. It's the second wrap that makes the line tight but is hard to do. If you have tough strong fingers you probably won't have any trouble.

  3. I currently use one of these but wanted a 'back up' incase I have a problem with it. I rely on it all summer as I love the way my clothes smell when dry. If they are a bit 'stiff', like towels, put them in your dryer a few minutes. One that I had a while ago, had the retractable spring break after many years of use. The one I am currently using, the plastic that you wind the cord around broke, but my husband (ever the handy man) replaced it with a metal bar and I still use it. I want this new one just to 'have on hand' as it makes hanging clothes easier for me. I only use about 10 foot of line each time as I just hang it from my house to a pole and not my entire yard. It works for me!!

  4. I got this for my sister, who has a small space for laundry. She loves it and it's the perfect solution for her. I tried it out before I gave it to her in my garage where my laundry space is. It worked perfect even for heavy comforters and blankets!

  5. We've had this clothesline for so many years, I can't remember when we purchased it. At first, we set it up outside and used it daily when the kids were very young. The line extended from the house to a tree. Unfortunately, we had to take the tree down...so I brought the line in the house and have been using it inside ever since. The years have gone by quickly and we now have 7 grandchildren. Many, many years have passed by and I've used this very same line several times during the week to save on propane for the dryer. The clothes line is still strong and has become an old friend. It certainly saved us a lot of money thru' the years!!
I will be purchasing another to set up outside again as the portable clothesline I bought to use on the deck topples over with the slightest breeze!!

  6. This Honey-Can-Do DRY-01113 40-Foot Indoor/Outdoor Retractable Clothesline is really great. It is so nice to wsh and hand bed linen in the sun and leaves the sheets with a really nice clean smell unlike a dryer. Easily installed and retacts when no in use. I suggest you place a pole in the middle when line is full to keep off ground.

  8. This is doing what I got it for really well! It is on the wall of the house and wraps around the poles of the patio. We did put hooks on the poles for support. I would not recomment it for the full length without support. However, I get a full load of wash on it. Saving money!
