VS228H P 22 Inch Full HD LED Lit Monitor
To preface this, I have been using a 2010 iMac display for the past two years, which is a 1080p, IPS display. I thought it was going to be pretty hard to find something that was as good of a display as that was. This monitor is definitely on par with the Mac display. The benefit that I do appreciate with the Apple display is that it has a glass screen, but that seems pretty hard to come by from any other company.
I read a decent amount of reviews that said this monitor was wobbly, but I've found that if assembled properly it doesn't wobble with normal usage. If you are purposefully trying to shake your desk, then yes it is going to wobble. I'm typing this on a small wooden desk with a mechanical keyboard and I can see no noticeable wobbling from keystrokes.
The only complaint I do have this it's excessively bright. It comes out of the box at 100 brightness. I turned down the brightness and contrast to a normal level with balanced whites.
I had no trouble with the monitor at all. Plug and play. Using the DVI that came with the display and the computer detected and auto-set 1920x1080 automatically.
Definitely glad that I bought this monitor.
I am very pleased with this monitor. I have owned a good many monitors in my time and this is one of the best.
BalasHapusI see that all of the other reviews for this product deal with individuals using it as a computer monitor. I got this monitor for my dorm room so I could play my Xbox 360 on it and I have to say for the price I am very pleased. Now I'm sure there are better monitors for gaming out there but you'll end up paying a lot more. For this price I got a monitor that displays my games better than my TV ever did. (For example when playing skyrim, the text is crystal clear, something that is hard to come by on a TV). The colors are great too and generally everything looks very sharp. The HDMI connection is great since those can be hard to come by on monitors. The only thing I would have wanted was built in speakers. There is of course an audio jack to hook up speakers or headphones though. So, while there may be better monitors for gaming, don't overlook this one if you want a relatively cheap alternative to the expensive ones that you most likely will be pleased with anyway.

-Not an IPS panel (which isn't realistic at this price anyways)
Overall, an excellent monitor.
Pros:

- Easy to use menu interface with physical buttons.
- Power LED(Blue/Amber)intensity isn't distracting at all.
- Slim and Clean monitor design with excellent crisp picture quality.
Cons:
- 2 HDMI connections would be awesome!
ASUS is now my preferred manufacturer of monitors.
The picture on this monitor is absolutely beautiful, as is the monitor itself.

- PHYSICAL CONSTRUCTION, stand included, is sturdy enough that I don't have to worry about knocking the monitor over or breaking it. TILTING the monitor is efforless, and it rotates up and down enough that I don't have to worry about my seat height, i.e., if I sit high and need to make the monitor face up to face me, it is easily done.
- I don't do photography work, so I don't worry about calibration and so on, but the COLORS are vivid and clear. It has several convenient color modes, including a "warm" one, which I use in the evening to relax my eyes before bed.
- The picture is very sharp. This is because such a high resolution is packed into a 21.5 inch screen. The PIXEL PITCH is as good as you will get in this generation's monitors that are in a usable size.
- The VIEWING ANGLE is absolutely amazing.
- Has a HDMI port for extra devices!
CONS:
- None really.

Pros: I bought three of these to use in eyefinity mode with my new Radeon 6990. They have a fantastic crisp picture and work fantastically in eyefinity mode. Shipping was extremely fast. The stands seem to be a little unstable if the screens are bumped but when left alone the screen don't move (the screens aren't supposed to be bumped so I don't see this as a con. I checked all three of the screens for dead pixels upon receipt of which I could find none. I have had the screens for about a month and a half now without any problems.

This is a great monitor. I use it 10% of the time for my pc and the other 80% for my PS3. The colors and images are vivid. Games and blu-ray movie look great, no image blur or lag. Great viewing angle and there is no screen glare from external light source. overall I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it.
BalasHapusThe are no build in speakers only an audio headphone jack also there is no volume control on the monitor .So if you want speakers you need Asus VE228H 21.5" Widescreen LED Monitor it also has volume control.
Edit: after 4 months of use the only complaint I have is that the ps3 has a slight communication issue with this monitor via hdmi. Every so often there is a very quick blink of the screen. I do not experience this when my ps3 is connected to my tv so I know its not the ps3.It does not happen when my pc is connected to the monitor via vga so it is not the monitor. it only happen when the ps3 is connected via hdmi.
