Like some of the reviews I too was reluctant to purchase this item. I decided to go ahead and now am very pleased with the result. The order and delivery was unbelievable - only two days! The packaging protected the edges with Styrofoam but the front and back were only protected by wrapping the pieces inside the box with paper and the cardboard box itself. It is packaged tightly so nothing can fly around. Although mine was not damaged I can see it could happen if not handled correctly in shipping. Like most reviewers, the plans, although not being complicated take some thought as to how the pieces might fit together especially when one brace had a slightly rounded edge not shown in the instructions. Lay out the pieces and make sure you have all the screws and keep them together - there are no extras. With a little patience and common sense it goes together easily. Do not force any piece - they all fit together with the dowels nicely. With a few cups of coffee and a little music it took me about 1 1/2 hours. If you have a powered hex tool other than the Allen wrench supplied, it might be even faster. One suggestion however, is to re-drill the pilot holes for the smaller phillips head screws using a slightly smaller diameter drill bit than the screw. Since the screws go into almost solid wood a better pilot hole will make it easier to screw each screw into place and create less of a chance to strip the head - which I learned the hard way on my first screw. The solid wood looks nice and is very sturdy once assembled. The sliding drawer is not a bad fit but don't expect kitchen cabinet quality. I do question the dowel stop in the drawer but that's just a personal choice and I decided to leave it out. The doors magically fit flush although one door swings with a slight more resistance which might be corrected with a drop of oil or continued use. Nothing to worry about. It would have been nice to have an adjustable shelf but the spacing is good and the shelves (middle and bottom), although being latticed, appear strong enough to hold small appliances or cookbooks and are easy to clean. Other than that, the furniture is better than expected and a real value. I wish they had a few more choices on color finishes but you can't beat the quality for the money. I would recommend it to anyone who needs additional storage or in my case, a microwave stand for a reasonable price.

It is only Day 1, but my initial impression is that I am loving it--and if you like both comfort and upper-class style, this is the product for you.

The soft black (not brown as part of the description mistakenly states) LeatherPlus is quite nice. Although, obviously, not 100% real leather for this price ($290 in May 2013), it is very soft and indistinguishable for 95% of people, from real leather and approximates calve leather.

The gas height adjustment / rocking release mechanism is flawless and I'd guess you can lean back roughly 20 degrees. The rich mahogany wood at the base is hard and very solid. The chair also feels very sturdy, indeed. It's no-nonsense engineering.

Now, for particulars / context... I'm 6' 2" / 230 pounds, have broad shoulders, and multiple herniations throughout my spine. When I first sat in it, I wasn't sure if I should be disappointed because it seemed too small, and perhaps a bit too firm...but I kept sitting in it, and trying to figure out the engineering approach.

The cushioning is somewhat firm, at first, and the chair height is such that my shoulders are about 2" or so from the top of the chair when sitting straight. My thighs / legs are comfy. It is quite apparent that there was a lot of thought that went into designing this product, although if you are a bit wider than a couple inches taller taller than I'd speculate that comparing to a big / tall product would be reasonable.

As long as the cushioning doesn't wear out prematurely (no reason to believe it would), I'd say that this is a first class chair. I can feel the difference in firmness between the back cushioning and the seat, suggesting someone took the time to realize that the seat area will need to be stronger and firmer.

The result is VERY positive for my back. Feels like I've got the lumbar support I need to sit and type for hours on end, without my back pain flaring up. I'd say it was a luxury racing car seat feel. In other words, somewhat form fitting, yet very high performance.

I'm super, SUPER picky about everything, live in pricey Silicon Valley, am accustomed to five stars in hotels and in general, and I am particularly, well...particular...about furniture--and everything. It is not unusual for me to sit on hundreds of chairs or couches before finally buying--or even to look at hundreds of properties before buying.

Unfortunately, in a limited timeframe, I couldn't find anything, locally, to suit me, and took a chance buying this online (without having actually sat on or seen the product in person)...but, in this case, glad I did.

The combination of cost and quality is presently very good...5 stars.

ps - I've got maple hardwood floors and the high-impact plastic wheels do leave an impression, as one might expect. So, if that's an issue, an area rug or other barrier would be prudent.

Perfect Workbench

Seville Classics UltraHD Lighted Workbench

Purchased this workbench recently and I wasn't expecting too much for only $200 but the reviews looked good so I gave in and got it, and I couldn't be happier. The bench arrived quickly, and was fairly simple to put together. The bench top is very nice and high quality, and everything is good quality metal (including the pegboard, I was expecting the typical cardboard material). I really have no complains with this bench at all. If I had to pick one thing I dislike about it, it is that the drawers are fairly difficult to push all the way back to have them lock in, but it isn't like they will slide open if they are all the way back. This bench is also very easy to put together, it takes some time because its fairly big, but its easy and the instructions are very clear.

Solid, sturdy scratching post that my cats love!

SmartCat 3832 Ultimate Scratching Post

I ordered this post primarily because of its size. This is a large scratching post, the top of it is even with the top of the back of my sofa. I really suspect the sofa was occasionaly still used as a scratcher because of it offered a bigger stretch than the small posts I'd made available.

After placing this post in a common location and moving one of the smaller rope wound posts to the side, I see the cats using it frequently, but also still see them using the small rope one as well.

In my attempt at cat mind reading:
1) Texture and feel: Excellent, as good or better than the back of the sofa.
2) Height: Ecellent, allows for big stretches.
3) Stability: the base is sufficiently large and firmly mounted that there's no fear that it is going to be tipped over.
4) Complaint: when reaching up high on the post to scratch, hind legs often get up onto the wide base of the post. The base of the post is smooth so that hind paws slip with no grip and the stretch feels uncomfortable and unstable. Carpet or other grip coating on the top of wide base would make for a much more stable hind paws for those long high scratchings.
